IT is time to do something about it. If you want to NOT be unhappy, depressed, nervous about going back to the old routine, then you need to do something different.
First and foremost, stop socializing with other depressed people. You know what they say, “Birds of a feather, flock together.” Stop being the “dying swan”! And start taking control of your own serotonin levels.
If you want to have a nervous breakdown, stay around all those people that are telling you they had a nervous breakdown, and you may just be on the verge of a mental breakdown yourself. People in those circles will tend to coerce you into thinking that you are not normal unless you too have a nervous breakdown, so you can officially join their club. The mechanism I am talking about is a method of self-vindication for being the way they are. I know that may sound severe, but if you intend to make a better, stress-free life for yourself, then you better take proactive steps to do so.
Combat Post Holiday Depression – Smile!
Here you are again at the end of another year, and guess what? It always ends up the same way for you. Once the event is over, you are depressed. The air has been left out of your balloon; you are down in the dumps... Viva passé.
The lead-up to your event you have planned so much for, given so much energy towards, and looked forward to for so long has finally arrived... and is over. All the preparation, the anxiety that everything will turn out right, that everyone will “get along”. Ha! All the energy you have poured into creating the perfect event has left you flat in the aftermath. So, now you are depressed. Are you just going to stay depressed? Or are you going to do something about it?
